La Casa de Almócita is a rural lodging situated in Dúrcal, in the very heart of Valle de Lecrín, just about 20 minutes of the monumental town of Granada. A wonderful place located between the high peaks of Sierra Nevada and the subtropical coast of Granada, with great weather conditions all year long.

MODERN & TRADITIONAL
La Casa de Almócita is a brand-new building right in the center of Dúrcal. It combines a modern style with elements taken from the two old houses where this project started. Because of this, the complex has a very particular nature.
The rural apartments La Casa de Almócita are hosted by a family business. We use a solar panel system to optimize the renewable energy consumption which granted us a sustainable tourism certification due to 100% of our energy coming from renewable sources.
There are 8 houses with independent living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Each one of the apartments is decorated and distributed uniquely. The inside is laid out around a central patio in the ground floor –just like an Andalusian corrala– furnished with plant pots and a stone floor that breathes light into all the bedrooms. The sound of the water that comes from the fountain and the window bars embellished with geraniums give a feeling of harmony and serenity.

THE ESSENCE OF NATURAL
Dúrcal is a town located in Valle de Lecrín, Granada, where the rural lodgings La Casa de Almócita were built. The Pearl of the Valley –etymologically, the name Dúrcal means perla de la comarca, “pearl of the region,” in Arab– is situated in one of the most privileged areas of Granada, just over the riverbeds cut by the very own river that shares a name with the town.
ts origins had place during the period of Muslim domination on the Iberian Peninsula, which extended from the 8th century AD and until the Moriscos (former Muslims who converted to Christianism) were expelled in 1571.
Dúrcal and its lovely landscapes with the hills from Sierra Nevada National Park stand out as a place of passage and perfect stop right between Granada and the Tropical Coast.
